Family Responsibilities
Our staff takes great pride in our responsibilities to our students and school families and we realize that our school plays a major role in your child’s development. We rely on your support and assistance at home so that together we can provide a complete effort in helping your child grow and learn to the best of his or her abilities.
MCC families are responsible for:
- Providing a home environment that supports the development of positive self-esteem, learning attitudes and habits, and social and intellectual competence
- Respecting and protecting each student’s personal development and privacy
- Supporting and valuing the school’s philosophy and policies through courteous interaction and through private meetings with the director and/or teaching staff if concerns arise
- Respectful participation during and after classroom observations
- Adherence to school policies and procedures and prompt tuition payments
- Reading newsletters and notices sent home thoroughly for awareness of school events and procedures
We encourage parents to take an active role in their child’s education. Even those with limited time can make an impact through our MCC Parent Teacher Organization.

Getting involved at our school
Observations
We encourage parents to schedule a classroom observation. During this period, most parents are surprised by how calm and quiet the room is, with children happily moving around with purpose. A two-way mirrored space allows you to observe without interruption.
Chaperoning
We offer many opportunities throughout the year for parents to join us on field trips to museums, nature centers, performances and more.
Sharing your culture
We love exploring the unique cultures represented in our community. Do you have a kid-friendly family recipe, relatives visiting from abroad, or another cultural tradition you’d like to share? Let our staff know—our class would be excited to learn from you!
Family events
Our school hosts a variety of family-friendly events including our annual picnic, seasonal celebrations, parents’ night out fundraiser, rummage sale, and a range of volunteer opportunities with community charity partnerships.
