A unique year of self-development in a safe and stimulating environment.
Our toddler Montessori guides are trained and specialized in the needs of a age group, such as autonomy, separation and toilet training. Through close cooperation between home and school, toddlers are gradually able to separate from their parents.
The Montessori-trained guide supports the child’s natural development by placing focus on the encouragement of independence. Through these interactions, toddlers begin to form their character, self-esteem, purpose of life, social and emotional skills, and learning processes.
“Teaching a child to respect others is the first step in teaching them to respect themselves.”
– Dr. Maria Montessori- Dr. Maria Montessori
The toddler classroom focuses on practical life exercises, activities for sensorimotor, language development and experiences in art and sciences. The classroom is designed so that they are able to choose and move about, independently. Montessori materials and activities help toddlers to begin experiencing the concepts of sequence, form, shape, movement and sound. The materials and activities change and evolve as the child grows physically, emotionally, and intellectually.

An Average Day
Arrival
Children put away their belongings.
Morning work period
We meet for line time which focuses on a range of group lessons including arts and crafts, singing and movement, reading, and courtesy. We then begin a work period based on each child’s individual needs and development.
Outdoor play
After enjoying a nutritious snack, we take the children outside to engage their physical development and need for movement. We have outdoor patios at both campuses suited for age appropriate exploration, and we often go for walks to parks in our community.
Lunch
Children are offered a healthy organic lunch as well as a rotating menu of fresh fruit and vegetables. We use this opportunity to learn about table manners and practice fine motor skills. After the meal, children clean up after themselves and assist in tidying the space.
Quiet time
The classroom is darkened and children sleep or rest on cots to quiet music.
Afternoon work period
After a resftul sleep and healthy snack, this time of individually paced learning encourages students to choose works that interest them either on their own, in a small group setting, or with a teacher.

The benefits of extended exposure
Children benefit the most from Montessori when attending daily for the full academic day, and remain with us for the full developmental stage. This allows for individual and social development, helping children to achieve their full potential.
